It's spring and while pulling weeds I've gotten a nasty case of poison sumac. I'm already taking rx prednisone but this seems to be continually be spreading around my hands and fingers.
What's your prescription?
What's the best way to clear up poison sumac from skin??
Best thing is Caladryl lotion directly on the poison sumac (or ivy or oak) and to take Benadryl.
Sumac is, I think, the nastiest of all three skin poisons. Red and itchy for a longer period.
Reply:I feel your pain I got it last summer and the only thing that really helped was a over the counter product by Tec Labs called Tecnu. the stuff works and it is easy to use. it pulls the oils out that cause the rash to spread and stops the itch. I used it twice a day till it cleared up and it helped a great deal. you can also use it to clean your clothes and sheets to get the oils off of them so you don't spread it more. I tell you this Tecnu was a god send. good luck.
Reply:Stop touching yourself.
