Lawn mowing dehydration problem...?

I heard somewhere if your urine is dark yellow it means you need more water. If it's light yellowish-clear then your hydrated enough. I mow lawns for about 10 people a week, but all in 2 day's. with a push mower and then trim with weed eater. I find myself after the first three lawns tired, weak, and then I get something to eat, and drink about 2 glasses of water. There's just no way I could drink 8 glasses a day within mowing lawns. I've tried, and all that water makes me feel bloated, and want to puke. What should I do then to keep me going all day long without feeling like crawling under a shady rock and going to sleep.

Gatorade...
Reply:Sounds like you need something to eat too. Keep healthy snacks with you to munch on throughout the day, and eat breakfast before you head out of your house in the morning. Don't drink liquids too fast, a few swallows at a time. If you begin to feel sick, it could be from the heat. Find somewhere shady to cool off for a few minutes.
Reply:Yes, your yellow urine story is true. Try to put away at least 3 liters of water a day.

I've been in the business for years and can't stress the importance of hydration. I've seen people drop like flies due to heat exhaustion - even worse, heat stroke. Start your day with a meal and include a banana so you have enough sodium and potassium in your system. Water load at breakfast and hydrate and snack througout the day as you need it to keep your energy.

Gatorade and all of the sport drinks are loaded with sugar and that isn't good.
Reply:Manual labor is tiring. If possible, spread your work out over an extra day or two.

The only thing that rehydrates you is water. Drink something like vitamin water or gatorade if you don't like drinking regular water.
