Texas: If you were the judge?

If you were the judge here in Texas and I presented you with this case and asked for sole custody and supervised visitations for the biological father what would you say?

Child is 18 months-under age of 3

Left me when I was pregnant hasnt been around since I was 3 mnths preggo.CHAPTER 161. TERMINATION OF THE PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP SUBCHAPTER A. GROUNDS Sec.A161.001. INVOLUNTARY TERMINATION OF PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP.AAThe court may order termination of the parent-child relationship if the court finds by clear and convincing evidence:

(1)AAthat the parent has:

(G)AAabandoned the child without identifying the

child or furnishing means of identification, and the child ’s

identity cannot be ascertained by the exercise of reasonable

diligence;

He was convicted of accesory of burglary, Was on probation for this.

During which time he failed his UA-Meth,Weed,Heroine

His father is POSSIBLY a potential child molester, no proof just what he told me.

Texas: If you were the judge?
Well, If I was a judge , first, I would investigate every little detail, so I could base my decision on truth facts. There are two sides to a story.
Reply:I can tell you from personal experience that child custody / support judges don't base their ruling on either the law or common sense. That said...

If I was the judge, I would give you sole custody with only supervised visitation by the biological father so long as he stays clean %26amp; out of trouble. However, that probably won't happen. Also, this is a fast %26amp; dirty decision on my part since I know nothing about you.
Reply:i would definitely say yes
Reply:The condition you cited for involuntary termination does not apply here. The statute means that if you leave a baby in a basket on someone's doorstep, nothing else.

I would say, prove all that you claim.
Reply:Based solely on the facts here, yes, I would say your chances are excellent.
Reply:I would definetely say that he doesn't deserve any sort of life with his child, however the law isn't always that ethical. Good luck!
