Flower garden weeds?

is there a way to get rid of previous plant bulbs and weeds to clear everything away for a new flower garden without killing the to be planted flowers?

Flower garden weeds?
A thorough tilling of the area should help. Till the soil and then wait a week or two for the next batch of weeds to sprout and then till again. You may need to repeat this a few times to eradicate the weeds completely. Then plant what ever your heart desires!
Reply:Hi Lacy,

You have to prepare the flower beds properly before planting

any new flowers. Start by digging up all the unwanted bulbs,

using a "claw", rake out as many weed roots as you can, buy

and apply the correct fertilizer/plant food. Mix really well with

the soil down about 8 to 10 inches, moisten the mixture and

allow to sit 24 hours, then go ahead and plant your new bulbs

or flower starts. Good luck, girl.
Reply:You're going to have to remove the bulbs and weeds before starting. Maybe you know someone who wants the bulbs and will help. Once it's cleared, apply a product called Preen. It's a weed inhibitor, and will not harm your plants. It's great and controls the weeds all summer. Good luck
