Best way to get rid of weeds?

We own a home that was just cleared of mesquite trees and some funky looking bushes. Now we are seeing a variety of weeds coming in along with the mesquite seeds that are now trying to grow. Our weeds are very low to the ground, but grow very quickly whereas the little mesquites are tough to pull out. Our yard is covered with gravel, but what is the best way to get rid of these. We've tried sprays and salt and none have yet to work effectively. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

Best way to get rid of weeds?
Go to home depot.
Reply:Try bleach

2 weed be gone spray
Reply:Make a solution with a ratio of two parts water and one part vinegar. Thoroughly drench the weeds with it.
Reply:I have tried just about everything there is and what I have found to be the only real way to eliminate weeds is to pull them from the root. I know it makes people cringe to think about it but it is the only truly effective way to eliminate weeds. The sprays will only kill what is already green, not the seeds that have yet to grow so in a few weeks, you will have an entirely new colony of weeds. The best advice I can give you is to try to get the weeds before they start to bloom, in other words before they reseed more weeds. Pull them out by the root and don’t give up. Eventually you will notice you have conquered the weeds, rather than the weeds conquering your yard. Good Luck!
Reply:go to home depot or lowes and see if they have a really and i mean really powerful weed killer i had the same problem over here and i used this stuff that was like industrial strength i don`t remember the name of it though
Reply:This is happening to me too, but you need to take good care of your garden, use a screwdriver or something and yank the weeds out. But remember to pull the roots out too! If not, then they'll grow even faster! But you'll need to keep pulling the weeds out.
Reply:pulling out the roots
Reply:Try some herbicides
