How can I prevent weeds from growing in between my patio paver's?

The paver's were put in by the previous homeowner and look really nice. Upon inspection I noticed it was done properly and a fabric was layed to prevent weeds. I can only assume that the install was done so long ago that the weeds have broken through the old fabric. I've tried Ground Clear plant killer but I'm looking for a more permanent solution. Can I lay some sort of outdoor grout or cement between the paver's? If so what should I use?

The problem is likely not weed coming thru fabric but dust/dirt seed being blown into gaps

I would use roundup with simazine(pre emergence) and spray along gaps between pavers or use DAS weedkiller

Yes you could point(grout) between pavers but would need to clean out sand from joints, mix up a pointing mix(3:1 fine sand /cement, add colour if you want) Depending on size of area this could be a big time consuming job

I would suggest talking to a brick/block layer who does this all the time, albiet on a vertical surface

The only problem you could have is IF pavers started to move/rock the pointing may crack and allow dirt %26amp; seeds in again. If laid correctly with a good base this unlikely, but possible
Reply:i used round up and several other products and found BAYER weed and brush killer at lowes i hate lowes but the product does work
Reply:Have you tried giving them the stink eye?
Reply:fn980 is right its realy works !
Reply:get some household salt and tip it between the pavers and then wait( weeds don't usely live long after this)
Reply:you will always have weed seeds that blow or are tracked into the area,

a consistent use of preemergent herbicide is really the most time efficient option.

your timing has to be correct for it to be successful.

a steam cleaner or boiling water will kill plants.
