Group of houses built in 1933 with shared easement driveway to access garages at rear. A piece of empty ground was reserved for future use as a playground. This land was not granted easement rights. The construction company went bust and the land reverted to NYC for tax purposes. It was purchased from the city under an auction. The owner now wants to develop the land. The owners of the houses oppose this. The housing owners have cleared this land of weeds as the owner never tended the land. The housing owners have used this land for parking for many years. What rights do the home owners have against this development? Where can we go to get help with this? Answers much appreciated.
Where can I find help for a land zoning problem in Queens, NYC?
The people who have been parking there have been trespassing. The owner should put up a sign and start having them towed away..
Reply:Contact a real estate attorney as this seems a little complicated and you don't want to take any chances.
