Is there a product that will kill both lawn and weeds?

I want to clear out a section of ground, and want to kill the grass, and weeds - just everything.

Is there a product that will kill both lawn and weeds?
Round-up kilss everything it touches.
Reply:Yes, it's called a shovel.

Or as an alternative, put down some of that black plastic material for a few weeks over the area you want to kill. not only does it kill the plants (from lack of sunlight) it also kills the organisms in the soil (from heat and lack of oxygen) that are needed for healthy plant growth.

In short, why use toxic chemicals when there are other simpler and more natural methods available.
Reply:you can use round-up. Natural way is block the sun using tarp or thick layer of new paper for 3 weeks.
Reply:Oh yes... there are tons of products that kill both!

My recommendations are for you to purchase something like Roundup (spray) or Noxall (granuales).

Either do the trick.

I've used these in my gardens on weeds, and they both work well.
Reply:Burning worked for me too.
Reply:ROUNDUP. works well. Do it without the chance of rain spoiling the application.(
Reply:The product Round-Up is a grass and weed killer. It will kill anything it touches. If you are expecting rain soon after you put it on, it may wash off, however, Round-up does have newer forms of it out that is rain proof in 2 hours or better. It sounds like you are doing a lot of ground, so be sure people and pets stay off of the lawn for a while and make sure your shoes or clothes get washed off too.
Reply:Yes, there are several available at garden centers or Home Depot/Lowe's. When you buy it, make sure that it says that it kills grass, too. Some are made for weeds only, but it will specify "grass and weeds".
Reply:BURN IT ALL. The ash will treat the soil for newgrowth, everything will die and easy to clean.
Reply:Well i really dint know about that but what you could do is dig the grass that is needed to be removed and then do what you need to do.
Reply:Just get a tiller or use a ho, why do you want to poison the ground ? that stuff will get into the groundwater and birds will eat bugs that ate the weeds and pass it on up the food chain
Reply:If you want to kill everything, I suggest using "Round-Up". It is available at most hardware stores. Understand, though, you will not be able to plant anything in that area for a couple of years. If you are wanting to clear the area for a garden, I suggest digging about four inches of the surface area up and replacing the empty area with topsoil from a local supplier.

I hope this helps!
Reply:bleach
Reply:almost any weed kiiler will kill grass and weed just spray and repeat. why dont you just till the earth. and not add harmfull chemicals to your lawn
Reply:Boiling water is a great alternative to herbicides, and it won't leave the ground infertile. If the ground infertility doesn't matter, gasoline will kill everything, but nothing will grow there for a long time.
Reply:Cover the area with black plastic for 2-3 weeks. This will kill anything growing under it. Then roto-till the area, and pull out all the dead material. Roto-till again.
