What could be wrong with my ac? it is on the cool/auto setting. air will come through, but it's not cold, and the fan outside on the unit is not running. it has only been ran a few times so far, but not long enough for it to be frozen up, and the area around it is clear of weeds and grass. any ideas? i know....call someone, but i can't call a repair man until i get ahold of my landlord, which i haven't been able to for 3 days.
Problem with home air conditioner?
If the outside unit is not running, you won't get cool air in the house. Check for a tripped circuit breaker. Some units have a disconnect switch near the outside unit, make sure it hasn't been turned off, perhaps by neighborhood children. But do call the landlord, it would be their responsibility to get it fixed.
Reply:Check the breaker or disconnect switch. It may have been shut off for the winter. Check the setting on your thermostat.
