Can weed destroy your ability to trust anyone?

i've had my fair share of doing drugs but weed seemed to always though not in the beginning) make me paranoid. i would think critically and analyze things. i thought it gave me a more clear perception on how life works. but it also made me distrust and doubt every thing. sometimes i knew it was silly and that it was only the usual paranoia when stoned but i think on the long term it has affected my ability to trust people even the closest to me. i misunderstand what people say and feel like there's always another meaning to what people say or do a "hidden" meaning.

i haven't done drugs for more than five years now and i still have trust issues.

what should i do???

Can weed destroy your ability to trust anyone?
Weed does give you a sense of paranoia but it goes away once yor high goes down fully. I wouldnt blame your trust issues on the weed. Maybe you need to check yourself and the ppl you have a distrust for.
Reply:Actually, I don't think there is any clear cut evidence that says (as someone else answered) "weed has long lasting effects, including the ability to trust others." (I think he just wanted to sound smart). I actually think that scientists suspect that marijuana can have long term effects on the brain but they aren't exactly sure what they are. (Don't quote me on this though. You might want to do some research online). Still, I seriously doubt that your trust issues come from weed.
Reply:ye sit is well documented by professionals that it has long lasting effects ( often permanent) on the mind.

one of which is paranoia and mistrust of others.
Reply:It my not be drugs. You may have trust issues dating back to childhood.Talk to someone before you try rehab. You can also stop talking to people all together and just be mute and stay in your house and be a hermit,I kid!
Reply:Seek professional help, any type of mood altering drug can have life long effects. sorry that you may have had to learn the hard way.
Reply:sure. it can make you paranoid! I suggest rehab! :)
